I love the southern hippie looks featured on StyleSheets House of Plates 1 post this morning. In particular, I have a style crush on that sweet thing in glasses and bangs, wearing the shirt dress, vest, and cowgirl boots. I especially love her long earrings, which has reminded me of the super cheap selection of long earrings over at Movida in Mockingbird Station. I found a handful of priced at $12 to $14 just last week. See photo above for a few pairs.

We may be a bit biased, but we believe passionately believe that the pendant is the star of a necklace.

So, our suggestions are always for simple necklace chains that set off the pendant. Our favorites are the silky snake chain, or a light cable or wheat chain. And the best look is to match the metal of the chain to the metal of the pendant.

Initial necklaces have been in the Lucid New York collection for a while now and have been extremely popular. Especially during the holiday season, when its so tough to come up with too many original ideas we can possibly handle, or when we dont really know a person that well, a tiny letter necklaces really seem like a good idea.

I love layering my A initial necklace as you can see how I wore them in my previous post from the New York Fashion Week. Theyre definitely cute – not in your face, showing some identity, some personality in a discreet way.

Well now a new idea was born. One of my clients – Uncommon Goods asked me to transform the oh so popular initial necklaces into initial letter stud earrings. Why not, I said and here they are – tiny letters that you can put right in your ear!

Milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish, and shellfish are the most common foods that cause allergic reactions in the American population. According to the Mayo Clinic, 6 to 8 percent of children under 5, and 3 to 4 percent of adults live with food allergies. Silver Pendants support jewelry designers all over the world. As designers we share similar joys and challenges. Carmen Rosa Gamio Alvarez is a jeweler in Peru who recently received a microloan from Nina Designs. Reading her bio, I was struck by how much all of us have in common as jewelry designers, business women and moms.

Alvarez discovered her love of art early. When I was a little girl, I liked to draw, and today I have a lot of fun designing and creating jewelry. I think it awoke the latent child artist in me.
