If you havent discovered Pinterest yet, you need to today!

What is Pinterest? Well, words really dont seem to capture how clever and engaging this image-driven platform really is, but let me give it a try. Basically, Pinterest is a social bookmarking site which enables users to “pin” images of anything that interests them on a variety of boards that categorize the pins.

Doesnt sound special, you say? Well, to really get the power and attraction of what has become THE hottest site in the social media world, you have to try it out.

Pinterest is a fabulous way to discover new designs, trends and products rather than relying on searches on Google, which seem to present you with nothing but the same old, same old big box stores, well known brands, and generic stuff.

Theres a reason why sites like Etsy and the fast growing list of curated shopping sites such as Ones Kings Lane or Haute Look  are so popular now. They

in: arm party, cartier ballon bleu, man repeller, rose gold watches

Being a “jewelry girl” I dont even remember the last time I owned a watch. it always seemed to me like a waste of arm space. Until I saw Man Repeller and all of a sudden the whole watch situation grew on me. I love the whole as she calls it “arm party” idea – layering a watch with tons of bracelets.

So I started looking. Looking for watches.

I started from the top

This Cartier Ballon Bleu rose gold watch is to die for.

Theres something about rose gold watches. Very feminine, very new.

I changed my mind, prefer this simpler version of the Cartier Ballon Bleu Watch.

It has more of a funky personality matching mine.

Its so much fun to get ready for the Arm Party. N

Indian Heritage Inspired Jewelry with COOMI

Posted by | Posted on 24-02-2012

Not your typical diamond, princess-cut setting on platinum…even better, jewelry from COOMI  brings traditional Indian culture to your fingertips…wrists, neckline and earlobes. As a multifaceted designer, Coomi Bhasin continues her creative career with her jewelry line. Think Renaissance, midsummer, multidimensional; that’s what you get with Bhasin’s unique inspiration merged with her artstic pieces of jewelry.

Prior to designing jewelry, Coomi Bhasin was a designer of landscape, textiles and architecture. Bhasin grew up in Bombay, India, where the daily clothing and jewelry items are so intricate and extravagant. As a young child, Bhasin wasn’t all for draping herself in jewels and gems as the other women of her culture did, and for that she was seen as an outcast. Thankfully, the normality of jewels in her culture, along with her surge of creativity bursting out of the seems, now arises the COOMI collection of jewelry.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2012: Peerage and Plumage

No one could have offered a Downton Abbey moment better than Ralph Lauren. Yet another reference to the Duchess of Windsor: see the image below of the model with her dark hair tethered to the head and gobbstopper gems around her neck. She is quickly becoming a caricature of wealth and privilege rather than an icon of inspiration. Loved the use of an Albert chain — the watch chain that hangs across a man’s vest. When not in watch mode, it makes a fabulous necklace. I once found a lovely one at an estate sale, I thought it was silver and gold washed, and when I got it home I discovered it was platinum and gold — and French circa 1927. I wear it still.
